Devadathan M B

Software Engineer

Hi, I’m Devadathan (or Dev, because that’s easier).

I live in Kerala, India. I spend my days building software as a backend engineer at Sage (formerly Fyle), and my evenings wondering how everything else works.

I’ve always been fascinated by how things work. Sometimes that curiosity leads me into databases, distributed systems, Linux, and open source software. Other times it leads to long conversations, unexpected friendships, and questions that don’t have neat answers. More often than not, it leads to both.

Open source software shaped much of how I think about technology. The ideas of freedom, ownership, transparency, and learning by taking things apart have stayed with me far longer than any particular tool, framework, or trend.

This site is my digital home. It’s where I write things down before they fade. Things I’ve learned. Things I’ve built. Ideas worth revisiting. Moments worth remembering.

Some posts exist because I found something interesting. Others exist because I don’t want to forget how a particular chapter of life felt while I was living it.

I value meaningful friendships, long conversations, shared laughter, and people who make the world feel a little less lonely. Some of the best things in my life began as ordinary conversations that lasted longer than expected.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope this place feels less like a portfolio and more like a conversation.
